Summer time is here and boy have we been busy!
Our annual memorial day event in May, raised over $3,000 for Miles of Smiles. Then, a couple of weeks ago, our very own Reggie and Betty got arrested for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and our staff, families and friends helped bail them out by raising another $3,000 + for the MDA. It feels good to give and I can’t wait for our next charity event.
We also had something else amazing happen… The Dek was voted BEST bar in Cape Coral… AGAIN! Two Years in a row! We just cant thank the best customers in the world enough for voting for us again and our amazing staff deserves the credit too!
So whats next on the Dek bar agenda? Tomorrow, June 20th we are hosting our Annual ABC party! It is not for kindergarteners……. ABC stands for anything but clothes! If you like to people watch, this is your kind of party! If you are creative, then join in the fun and put together an attire made from whatever you can dream up… But NO CLOTHES! Prizes going to the most creative and if you rather leave your attire to the artistic types, have one of the professional body painters on hand take over on the creativity of your “costume”!
This is one of the craziest, most outrageous parties we do all year and this year, we have combined it with a good-bye bash for one of the most outrageous and craziest bartenders we know! Our lovely Heather is going on to do big things up north and we are sending her off Dek Style with tomorrow’s party. Come in and give her one last hug… We will truly miss her!
Once we recover from this weekend, we will be full steam ahead into July and we are ready to Red, White, and Booze it up with our 4th of July weekend bash! Live Entertainment happening day and night, all weekend long and on Saturday July 4th, we will have crazy awesome specials, Acoustic Music by Bobby James and a DJ during the day and MT40 rockin’ the Dek after the fireworks display in the district! What’s more American than that?!
This summer is certainly bringing the heat… wish it would snow! Just kidding. But, how about a little Christmas in July?! Our annual Christmas in July party is happening Saturday July 25th and Model Citisin is rocking the roof off all weekend long! Santa will be here too….have you been naughty or nice???????

We plan some of our best events over the Spring and Summer months and now that you have all this extra time on your hands that you’re not using up waiting for people to figure out how a 4-way stops work, we have some ideas on how you can spend it!
Outside of bringing you some of the most talented, rockin’ bands from the SWFL area all week long, we plan some of the biggest parties you can find around and we have some truly awesome events coming up in the next few months……but like any party, it’s not as cool if you friends aren’t there too…..so mark you calendars because these are going to be some kickass parties and we want to see your beautiful faces!!!
This Saturday, April 25th, we are hosting our Traditional Halfway to Fantasy Fest Extravaganza with Bobby James providing the tunes during the day and Model Citisin rockin’ the roof off at night!!! We’ll have a professional artist on hand for FREE Body Painting for the Ladies (sorry guys, you’re on your own, lol) and more fun than you can shake your stick at!!
For the month of May, we have another awesome line-up of fun starting with Cinco de Mayo on Tuesday, May 5th with THREE 2-4-1 Happy Hours throughout the day and 25¢ Tacos til 10pm, Lemongrass performing at 8:30 and the best damn fiesta you’ll find on The Cape!
One of the most amazing things we do here besides partying hard, and something we’re pretty proud of, is giving back to the community. We are honored to spend EVERY Memorial Day hosting our charity event for Veterans and/or Military men and women. This year we are working hard for Miles of Smiles, an organization that raises awareness for PTSD and offers equine therapy and other services to those men and women who have served so selflessly for us all!!
This is one of the biggest events of the year and we do it up BIG for these heroes!!
So, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th the theme is a LUAU!! Grab your grass skirt, coconut bra and your lei……(or get lei’d here) and limbo yourself to The Dek for the a day and night of Live Entertainment and fun like you’ve never seen!! We’re BBQ-ing everything in sight, having raffles all day long, a Silent Auction with awesome packages supplied by area businesses and vendors will take place and a 50/50 auction will happen in the evening!! Live Acoustic Music starts at 3pm and DJ KENNEY will be hosting Karaoke and playing whatever you want to hear at night…….he’s no Don Ho, but he’ll do!
So don’t BBQ in the backyard when you can be here for one of the BEST parties of the year and all for an awesome cause!!! YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS IT!!
Last year, we had our first ABC Party……..that’s ANYTHING BUT CLOTHES. So get creative and crazy!! FREE Body Painting will be provided for this event as well, with prizes for the most creative get-ups…..but NO CLOTHES!! if you missed it last year……WOW! Well….let’s just say, the people watching is spectacular! It’s happening Saturday, June 20th!!

Happy New Year, Dek-heads! It’s been a while since I’ve updated you on what’s going on!! We have been busy, busy, busy! First off, the big news: NEXT WEEKEND will be a weekend to remember!!! We kick it off with our first ever ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW Costume Party, scheduled for Friday The 13th after dark!!! Anyone who grew up in my generation knows that RHPS was the “IT” thing to do on a Saturday night! If you’ve never seen the movie, I STRONGLY encourage you to rent it, buy it, or stop in and borrow a copy from me! This is definitely a cult classic and will no doubt have you saying “what the HELL is this?!?!?” During the party, we will be giving out prizes, bar tabs, etc for these best costumes from the film:
RIFF RAFF, MAGENTA, COLUMBIA, ROCKY, FRANK N. FURTER, EDDIE, & THE BEST DRESSED TRANSYLVANIAN!
Next up – February 14th is of course VALENTINE’S DAY, as well as Cape Bike Night! Date night never sounded so…. LOUD! J Make sure you stop in and pre-game it at The Dek before you head down to 47th Terrace for the city’s BIKE NIGHT! Look for your favorite Dek bartenders while you’re there who will be handing out tons of free Dek gear plus FREE DRINKS! The holiday season is approaching and boy do we have some great things in store for you guys here @ The Dek! This year for the first time in Dek history, we will be open regular hours on both Thanksgiving and Christmas Day! We know the holidays can be hectic and as much as you enjoy spending time with your family, it’s also nice to get away from the chaos and have a holiday cocktail! So, we are giving you every opportunity to do that by staying open all day & night during all the major holidays!
First up – ‘Twas the night before THANKSGIVING! We have a wacky night in store for you on Wednesday, November 26th – MT40 will be taking the stage at 9:30pm, and our lovely bartenders will have tons of wacky things going on–think nostalgic!! Not to mention we have 25¢ wings until 10pm and ALL whiskey is just $3.50 from 9pm-2am!!
On Thanksgiving Day, we will have our regular ever-popular STEAK NIGHT as usual with one awesome addition -for everyone who doesn’t feel like cooking this year (or just doesn’t want to deal with family LOL!) we will be adding a turkey & dressing dinner to the menu for one night only! So, in addition to our NY Strip ($7.95), 18oz Porterhouse($11.95), Grilled Chicken ($6.95), & Shrimp Scampi ($6.95) dinners, we will be offering a mouth-watering Thanksgiving turkey dinner for just $7.95! All dinners include baked potato, salad, & dinner roll!
Last year we hosted our 1st annual Xmas Eve Charity Event on December 24th, and we are bringing it back again this year! On Christmas Eve (Wednesday, Dec. 24th) we will be hosting our 2nd annual Pajama Party Charity event – this year all the proceeds will be donated to the Cape Coral Caring Center, which is located across the street from The Dek. They use their donations to help people in need with groceries and other necessities during the holiday season and all year ’round. We are adding a new fundraiser to the fun this year – a $1,000 raffle! You heard right – you could win $1,000 CA$H! Tickets are on sale now for $20 each – and you’ll also get a $5 coupon that you can use toward your bar tab with every ticket purchase! YOU DON’T NEED TO BE PRESENT DURING THE DRAWING TO WIN! On Christmas Eve during our Pajama Party, we will be drawing several winners from these tickets: we will award prizes such as Dek gift cards, gift buckets, and coupon packages, and, of course, one lucky winner will leave $1,000 richer! One of the best things about summer and the one holiday we, as Americans, love is The Fourth of July. Barbeques, picnics, friends, family, beer and fireworks…doesn’t get much better than that. Unless, of course, you can bypass the cooking and mixing of drinks yourself and have our lovely Dek bartenders take care of serving you!! We’re going to cook out and party all day and night!!! We have even been granted, by the city, to use surrounding empty lots around The Dek for party overflow and tent set up!! We are super excited about this! These guys have rocked The Dek on several occasions, and they always deliver! 6-9pm, we have a newer band, FUNK FIDELITY – with former members of Groove Alliance, this band is sure to be a hit! Last but certainly not least we have NOT GUILTY taking the stage from 9:30pm ’til close! If you haven’t heard these guys, you’ve been living under a rock – they are one of the best cover bands in the area!

Here @ The Dek we want to promote local musicians! And, while we have live music 7 nights a week, we typically cater to the cover bands in the area when it comes to booking gigs. We feel that the local bands who write & play their own original music need a platform as well! So, we’ve collaborated with Paul L. Marshall Productions to bring you ORIGINAL MUSIC TUESDAYS beginning on Tuesday, September 24th @ 9:30pm! Each week we will feature a different local artist playing their original songs! On the THIRD Tuesday of each month, Mr. Paul Marshall is going to put on a Showcase featuring 4 different artists of a particular genre. Stay tuned for details & to find out who our first local artists will be!

The Dek will be hosting a Charity Poker Run on Saturday, August 24, 2013 to benefit Jeffrey Betts, who is the father of our bartender, Jenny Betts. He has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer and will be spending over a month in the hospital during which time his family will need some financial assistance to help cover their bills while he is recovering from his surgery. We want to do everything we can to help the Betts family during this tough time, so we will be holding a raffle & live auction at The Dek on Saturday, August 24th from 3-8pm (immediately following our Poker Run) to raise money for the family.
We have tons of items up for grabs in our raffle & live auction – Everyone is welcome to come check it out & try your luck (and skill) at winning some of these items! Items include spa services (mani/pedis, massage, hair cut & dye, etc.), bar & restaurant gift cards, oil changes & car detailing, gift baskets for everything from wine lovers to beach lovers, hotel stays, pet grooming, golfing, bowling, & anything else you can think of! If you would like to donate an item for us to raffle off, it would be greatly appreciated! You can contact Betty at 740-816-1199 or drop it off at The Dek anytime day or night! One of our staff members would be happy to write you up a receipt so you can claim the donation on your taxes!
It’s been a while, and that’s why I think it’s time to bring back THE DUNK TANK! That’s right – your favorite DEK BARTENDERS will be giving you the chance to DUNK them! Once everyone returns from the Poker Run, we will have a whole day of events planned for you! There will be delicious BBQ food served up, tons of great raffles, auctions, live music, & the chance to dunk your favorite (or least favorite) bartender!!!!!!! All proceeds will go directly to The Betts family, so it’s a win-win! There will also be a $1,000 cash raffle drawing where tickets are just $20/each and you have a chance at winning one of six $25 prizes or the grand prize of $1,000 cash! You don’t need to be present to win and you can purchase a ticket anytime between now and the drawing at The Dek – just ask your bartender or any staff member!

Sean Russ & the other firefighters who are regulars at The Dek set up a smoker today and gave out BBQ chicken meals for donations for MDA. They raised a total of $500 with their efforts – thanks to you – the customers!!! What a great day! We can always count on our customers to come thru when someone in the community needs to raise money for a good cause! We truly have the best & most generous customers there are!

Another St. Patty’s Day has passed….
Season is here & is in high gear! St. Patty’s Day weekend was AWESOME! Everyone had a great time Saturday Night with one of our best bands, MODEL CITISIN, taking the stage at 9:30pm. The green beer was flowing as were the $5 Car Bombs, $3 Jameson Shots, and $1 delicious pudding shots made by our manager, Jennifer’s sister. If you saw a chick running around snapping photos, that’s her! It was Brooke’s last night, since she’s now moved back up to Ohio to persue other opportunities…and Doug, Brandy, & Maishe were all decked out in their St. Pat’s outfits and IN THE WEEDS for the majority of the evening! Some local bagpipers graced us with their presence around 8:30pm – they were part of our “St. Patty’s Day Eve Crawl” with all of the bars in the area. At midnight, we enjoyed our “New Year’s” shot as usual, this time everyone got a free PUDDING SHOT – oatmeal cookie, strawberry cheesecake, pastachio, caramel apple…. they were all to die for!
Last call finally arrives, and the bar is still packed, so everyone ends up going home or to their perspective after-parties…. Then, by 10am Sunday morning, half of them are back again- whether they’ve come to pick up their vehicle that was left from the night before, or to get a jump start on the real St. Patty’s Day celebration with a $1.50 mimosa, screwdriver, bloody mary, or green draft! By noon, the place is jumpin’ again with The Rev. TEQUILA TOM tearing it up on the 6-string and singin’ his infamous original “The Dek Bar Bike Incident” which he wrote himself from his first-hand witness of the day when one of Cape Coral’s finest forgot to put their cruiser in park and it rolled into a line of motorcycles which incidently fell over knocking over one bike after another, prompting Tom to ask “5-0, don’t you know a bike from a domino?” The crowd loves him! The Reverend is in the house each & every Sunday 2-6pm and every week is just as fun as our St. Patty’s Day Celebration was!
Reggie, Diane, Krissy, & Brittney held their own as they were bombarded with orders for corn beef & cabbage, green beers, and Irish Car Bombs! Tequila Tom shared the stage with some friends, and although there weren’t enough bar stools to go around, no one seemed to mind!
