Spring has arrived, and here @ The Dek, we think that is something to drink to (what isn’t?)! As if you needed another reason to party, here is a preview of what is to come over the next few months right here at your favorite five star dive bar!
The Dek’s Annual Easter Sunday Chili Cook-Off -Sunday, April 20th 2pm
Make your best homemade pot of chili and bring it in to be judged by your peers! And, it gets better – not only do you have a chance to win your entire bar tab for the day (up to $100), but you get $5 off your tab just for trying! We will provide all the fixins, hell – we’ll even provide the spoons 🙂 If you’re not a great chef, no problem! Just show up with an empty stomach and READY TO EAT (and judge the entries)! 1st place wins $100 bar tab, 2nd place wins $50, and third place wins the satisfaction of knowing that you were beat by two people who can cook chili better than you! 🙂
All of our regular Sunday specials are still in affect – $1.50 Bloody Marys, Mimosas, & Screwdrivers all day long, $5 Sundays @ night with $5 Large Pizzas, $5 Pitchers, & $5 Shots 7pm-2am! Easter Sunday “Church Service” with The Reverend TEQUILA TOM 2-6pm. Since it is Easter, when you arrive make sure you grab an Easter Egg – it could be filled with something wonderful!!
Halfway to Fantasy Fest Party – Saturday May 3rd 2pm-2am
An entire day dedicated to paying homage to the infamous “Fantasy Fest” that takes place every year in Key West. If you’ve ever been, then you know the deal – body paint, beads, booze, & pretty much anything goes! We have some of the best airbrush artists in the country coming to hook you up with gorgeous body paint! Along with these awesome artists, we have killer bands playing all day long starting with LEMONGRASS at 2pm! These guys have rocked The Dek on several occasions, and they always deliver! 6-9pm, we have a newer band, FUNK FIDELITY – with former members of Groove Alliance, this band is sure to be a hit! Last but certainly not least we have NOT GUILTY taking the stage from 9:30pm ’til close! If you haven’t heard these guys, you’ve been living under a rock – they are one of the best cover bands in the area!
There is still plenty more to come, including one of customer favorites: our Annual Memorial Day Charity Event – this year we will be raising money to benefit the HOMETOWN HERO PROJECT and VANS FOR VETS – a local charity organization that is dedicated to providing disabled veterans with handicap-accessible vans & vehicles. We will be SuperHeroes for Heroes 🙂
